Do Fathers with blue eyes pass the eye color to children 100% of the time?!

Question:

Do Fathers with blue eyes pass the eye color to children 100% of the time?

I saw on the news the other day that there are studies sayin gthat if the father has blue eyes then the kid will always have blue eyes, no matter what color the mothers eyes are.
In other words if the kid comes out with any other color than blue it is not the blue eyed mans child.

Answers:

That is not necessarily accurate. I think the story you are talking about might be one published in Science Daily that also says blue eyed men prefer blue eyed women because it makes them more sure of their paternity of any child. This is based on a study in Norway of a total of When I was in school they taught us that everybody had 2 genes determining their eye color and that we inherit one from each parent. The Science Daily article assumes that this is true but in this like in a lot of things science has learned more over the years. It is not a simple matter of which of two genes a child gets there are more variations and more genes involved.

Here are some sites that will help you

If someone is concerned about whether or not they are the child's father they can have a simple DNA paternity test that will give accurate answers.
