Can I change contact brands without seeing the eye doctor?!

Question:

Can I change contact brands without seeing the eye doctor?

I went to the stupid Walmart eye doctor because it was cheap and I really needed contacts. He wrote me a perscription for the walmart/sams club brand contacts. My eyes stay foggy and these things hurt like hell. I was told by another reader the I probably needed to get a different brand. I order contacts from 1800contacts.com, can I change brands without having to go to the eyedoctor? This stuff is costing me a fortune!!

Ok, no need to argue! lol

For everyone who has never heard of "walmart/sams club" brand contacts click this link. They are the same as Target brand contacts.

P.S. for the people who are just having a bad day, apparently. It wasn't a mispelling. It was a typo. There's a difference!

Thank you all for the great answers!

Firstly it doesn't make a difference where a doctor works they still have the same qualifications. Hmmm that's weird I never knew that walmart had their own brand of contacts?
Anyways every contact lens brand has different parameters and possibly different material types. Sounds like your contacts may not be fitting well... because they shouldn't hurt or be foggy! You will have to go for another contact lens fitting. If you order another pair the same thing just may happen again and you will be wasting money. Schedule another contact lens fitting and they can set you up with new trials and check the fit..... It is never a good idea to just pick out your own contact lenses... too many things can go wrong and you will waste more money! When you have contacts you have to be prepared to spend any amount of necessary to become a successful contact lens wearer. I know this is not the quick fix answer you are looking for... but choosing new contacts yourself will NOT solve your problem...obviously the parameters of this lens (Base curve/Diameter..etc..) are not working well for you! Then why would you order another pair with the same parameters? It just wouldn't make any sense! Contact lens fitting is always trial and error process! Just schedule a new fitting and make sure they check the fit of the contacts while you are wearing them!

EDIT*** To the post above mine: I am not a corporate optician...but thanks for coming out! lol
Where in this answer am I pushing any *specific* product??? If I am....then what am I selling? Common Sense? lol All I am trying to say is she needs a new fitting because obviously the parameters of her current contacts are not working for her! Ordering new ones with the same parameters from the internet will not solve this problem.... its just logical thanks!
P.S: I read all of your other answers and your one question.... there is no way you can be an optician... what kind of optician would think it is safe to put dish soap in their eyes or think there is a "magnetic" tool to take out a contact lens! There is a suction cup tool... but not magnetic! Even a person with a slight bit of common sense would know better!!!
