Lens crafter vs pearle vision?

i am wondering if anyone knows the basic costs for eye exams/contacts/glasses at places like lens crafter and pearle vision- i have only ever gone to private practice doctors but cannot afrorde it now that i am off of insurance....any wisdom??

looking for specific cost areas- ie an exam costs $x....trying to work out if ican afford this at the moment

well, lenscrafters and pearle vision are both under the same corporation...luxottica. its all the same people (and sunglass hut, and sears optical and others...).

it just depends on where you go. who the doc is and who the manager of the individual optical is. i would consider the pearle portion and the lenscrafters portion of the luxottica corporation to be pretty much equal in my mind. you just have to find a doc you like and an optical manager who does a good job...
