Eye sight after lasik?!

Question:

Eye sight after lasik?

Ok, I was very near sighted and on saturday I had lasik eye surgery on both eyes.

Now I can see fine with things are far away but eveything up close is blury and I have to squint to focus. Anyone else had this problem? Will it go away or do I need reading glasses?
I will be mad if I need reading glasses, I spent $3500 to get rid of them.

Tracy, I just had PRK yesterday and I'm experiencing that same Hot, Humid, Hazy day type vision that it sounds like you're having. It's perfectly normal, part of the healing process.

My husband is three weeks out from his LASIK procedure and he still has a little haziness from time to time, but it has been getting better as time goes on. He has told me that his haziness/blurring seems to be occurring more now when his eyes are kinda dry, but the artificial tears our laser surgeon recommended are doing wonderfully for him and myself.

My vision actually is already fluctuating some...not quite 24 hours out from my PRK (correction of -7.13 in one eye and -8.06 in the other)...artificial tears are helping big time...do not hesitate to use them..keep your eyes moist to help with the healing.

You are just a week out from your LASIK and if you're doing your drops as instructed, you'll be seeing clearer and clearer. I would suspect you do not need reading glasses yet...I've just "blown up" the print on my computer screen so I can see it a bit better...and reading a newspaper right now...forget it...but I'm trying to be as patient as possible because it will get better, just takes time to heal just like when you get a paper cut or burn yourself on the oven door (ok...I'm clumsy).

I know it's hard...believe me, I'm going thru it myself right now...but we just need to be patient for a little longer for our eyes to heal and our vision will get better over the next several days to weeks. My surgeon said that vision typically stablilizes in about 3 months or so..but that it can differ a little with every individual.

Good luck! I would not trade my PRK for anything, even with the discomfort and blurriness that I have right now, cause it is getting better overall from hour to hour!
