Are the white spots on soft contact lenses really protien deposits?!

Question:

Are the white spots on soft contact lenses really protien deposits?

The lady at my optical center said that the white patches/blotches appearing on my soft contact lenses are protien deposits. She said I need to switch to using ClearCare cleaner. 1. Are these spots really what she says they are? 2. Has anyone else had this problem? 3. Reccomend a good cleaner?

Answers:

Your tears are made of lipids and al sorts of other things. One being protein. Using clear care will help take the daily deposits of this off and keep your lenses cleaner. So will using a frequent replacement lense like disposeables. If it is really bad talk to your doctor. I have a problem with protein deposits and I change my lenses once a month and use clear care. It is worse in my left eye than my right. Why do you not wnat to use Clear Care? You would be amazed!
