Help me evry1,i m wearing contact lense frm 5-6 months nowadays rainbow appears while looking at the lights?

hii every1,this is pooo, i m using baush n lomb contact lenses from 5 months,my no is -5.5,its like whn i was 16 year old i had to start wearing galsses.nw i m 20,my prob. is whenever i wear contact lens initially my eyes gets irritated and sumtimes they evn becum red,,after removing the lens 1-3 times n wearing thm again sumitimes resolves the problem,however i dn face any problem afterwards bt it happens only at the time of wearing thm.
from the past one month a problem arised in my eyes which is like whnever i look at the lights or any bulbs i evn see a rainbow along with the light,due to which it becumes quite difficult to see properly at the light and due to his i evn hav problem in driving,however this rainbow persists evn whn i look it through naked eyes or through glasses,last month i evn visited a eye specialist bt she said everythng is allrite
nw i m feeling scared whether contact lenses are effecting my eyes,n wl it hav a long term efect?wht do u all suggest me??

many, many possibilities. you need to see an eye doctor. to contradict another answerer, you probably DO NOT need an ophthalmologist or "MD". those are eye SURGEONS. this does not sound like a surgical case to me. this sounds like a contact lens-induced inflammatory process. in the U.S. your best bet IMO is an optometrist, preferably the same one who fit the contacts you are currently wearing. optometrists are the ones who know all about contact lenses and their associated problems. and optometrists are the "primary eye care" profession. this is exactly what an optometrist does for a living... is deal with this exact kind of thing. you only need an ophthalmologist for eye SURGERY.
