How can I help my tird eyes and frontal headache?!

Question:

How can I help my tird eyes and frontal headache?

My eyes feel as thoug I was very sleepy, and I have momentary throbbing pain in my forehead or temples. I work as a computer programmer and staring at a computer screen all day everyday is making the pain worse. I do not wear contact lenses or glasses. I have not had problems with my eyes before. What could cause this and how can I solve it?

Answers:

My job entails 100% computer work...and 100% eye strain!! I too get those throbbing headaches in my forehead and behind my eyes on a daily basis.

One thing I have found is that if you can, take frequent very short breaks every hour. I take a 5 minute break on the hour every hour. And artificial tears. When we work on computers all the time, we tend not to blink as much...dunno why...that's what my optometrist said according to some studies...which causes dry eyes and eye strain. When your eyes are moisturized, there is less straining.

Drinking water is a good idea to help keep your body hydrated, in turn helping your eyes create tears, but sometimes when that eye strain starts, you need some topical eyedrops (I LOVE my Refresh Plus!!!).

If these simple measures do not help, I would definitely go see my optometrist for a general eye health checkup and ask his/her recommendations.

That's what has worked for me, hope it will you also.
