Black dots in my vision..?!

Black dots in my vision..?
Please help. I am sure this has been asked already.
But I have had this stupid black dot in my eye for years, all the doctor told me is not to follow it.
I don't like going to doctors, yet I am getting worried, I now have black dots in both my eyes. And at times seems they are getting more and move faster.
I am also not sure I put the question right, but could some one tell me what causes this, and is there reason to worry.

You probably have what are called floaters. They aren't anything to worry about, but if you're getting more and more of them, go have it checked.
