Why do my contacts hurt so bad?!

Question:

Why do my contacts hurt so bad?

My contacts are two week to one month contacts. The doc says I can keep them longer than two weeks as long as they dont' bother me. For several months now I've been able to get 3-4 weeks of usage. I can tell they are ready to be thrown away because they get "sticky" in my eyes and I don't see as clearly. Here lately, my right eye in particular, has been burning and itching like crazy! I'm at my wits end! I almost want to go back to glasses. They get fuzzy at times, and almost feel like there is something in it. Yet I clean them every night and use rewet drops. Grr

Can anyone help!?

Seems like everyone is saying it's an eye infection. I think I'll try switching doctors because mine is a dumba** anyways. When I put in my contacts I always rinse out the case with steaming hot water and put it out to dry, at night I rub my contacts with cleaner which has never touched my eye. I also wash my hands alllll the time. So I'm pretty good at keeping them clean.

I make sure to rinse out my contact case and don't ever put my contacts in "yesterdays" solution. I was always told that there is bacteria that grows in dark wet places and this certain bacteria in contact cases can actually rot your brain. No lie the Assistant at the Opt. Office told me. Yuck! Thanks everyone for your suggestions and concerns!

Answers:

Everyone is different. I couldn't wear contacts for more than a day at a time, no overnighters ever and had to take them out at least once through the day to clean them before reinserting. Sometimes dust or sand gets in my eye and scratches the lens (I lived at the beach for years). So, I really went through the contacts. Try a different optician or go to an opthomologist.
