What would happen if i stop wearing my glass.?!

Question:

What would happen if i stop wearing my glass.?

i remember i heard a theory that glass are actually bad for u, wearing for a long time gradually wear down your eyes, because ur eye is a muscle, you need to exericise it instead of depending on it, so what would happen if i stop wearing my glass for a while.

Answers:

Well the truth of the matter is your eye would not be considered a muscle in itself... there are muscles that control the movement of your eye.. and muscles that control the dilation/constriction of your pupil...muscles that control your crystalline lens...etc
Your eye as a whole is NOT a muscle. The most common cause of myopia is your eye being too long and therefore the light entering your eye is focused in front of your retina. The further the light is focusing from your retina the worse you will see. As for Hyperopia your eyeball is too short and the light entering your eye is focusing behind the retina causing a person to not see clearly. Astigmatism is caused by the shape of the parts of your eye involved in vision not being spherical like a baseball...but more cylindrical shaped sort of like a football. This causes the light to focus in two different locations and this causes blurry vision.
The lenses in your glasses are the power required to bend the light onto your retina so a person can obtain clear vision.
Wearing glasses does not make your eyes stronger or weaker they just help you see.
If you took your glasses off for awhile you would obviously not be able to see as well and eventually you would become accustomed to it. This will not make your eyes stronger at all!
Eyesight naturally changes over time especially during adolescence... whether you wear your glasses or not will not change this factor :)
