How much should one expect to pay for rimless eye glasses?!

Question:

How much should one expect to pay for rimless eye glasses?

Please name range and also high quality specs/brands one should be looking for.

Answers:

It really depends on the brand of rimless eyewear that you are looking at and the type of lens material that you would want, depending on your prescription. Polycarbonate lens or trivex are perfect for rimless eyewear, because they are impact resistant and holds better without having to worry about chips, cracks or dings around the drillmounts. The prices vary from different places and optical shops, but you could be looking at around $115 starting price. The popular rimless frames that I would say are probably worth it and will last longer than normal are marchon and silhouette. Those brands could start at $250 and up. If your just looking for something fashionable and dependable, make sure the eyewear material is made of titanium or stainless steel and either flexible or have spring hinges. Oh, and the best rimless eyewear have airlock drillmounts now a days. Forget those old screws that leaves a hole on your lens... they break easily. Trust me... i'm an ophthalmic lab tech =)
