My ophthalmologist didn't specify some measurements required for getting contact!

My ophthalmologist didn't specify some measurements required for getting contact lenses, should i be worried?

I mean, he knew I was there to check if it was ok for me to wear them, he gave me my lens prescription, and it lacks the diameter and base curve, and i don't know what other measurement, and he just put down i should get "acuvue", but didn't specify which kind. I tried to buy some, but they told me they wouldn't sell them to me!
I'm planning on going back to my dr. to ask him to fill in the missing info, but it makes me wonder if he knows what he's doing at all? Is it common for doctors to forget this sort of thing?

Did you go to a private location with opthalmologists only or opthalmologists/optometrists? If it was a private location, they may have just presumed you would be purchasing contact lenses from their location, and that information is usually obtained from your medical chart, not from the prescription copy he writes out for your own personal records. The place you went to was entirely correct in not filling your prescription without these measurements. I'm sure a simple phone call or visit to your opthalmologist will clear the whole ordeal up. It does happen quite often in the optical world, particularly if your doctor presumed you would be purchasing the lenses at his location.

*EDIT* I just responded to your other post on allergic conjunctivitis...I would be wearing glasses until your prescribed drops are done as well as avoiding the eye makeup. Contact lens wear is not going to help clear up the allergic conjunctivitis!
