Has anyone had custom PRK eye surgery?!
Question:
Has anyone had custom PRK eye surgery?
Looking for anyone that has had PRK eye surgery. I am getting it done next week and wondering how recovery is and how long it takes to achieve 20/20 vision and are you happy with the results?

I have thinner corneas plus I'm in martial arts so my doctor thinks PRK is my best option.
Answers:
I had PRK on the right and Lasik on the left 3 years ago. My vision, 48 hours after the procedure was better than 20/20 on the PRK eye. I was very nearsighted, not able to see the big "E" on the eye chart unless I was right on top of it!! I have to say the discomfort that I had for about 4 days was well worth it. Overall, I was sensitive to light for about a month. Believe it or not, I am not nearly as light sensitive as when I wore contacts (20 years of looking for my sunglasses). I had no problems, not even dryness. It took a couple of months for everything to be 100%. I wish I would have done it much sooner! Also the left eye, where I had lasik was healed in about 5 days. No issues. I just had my 3 year check up last week--still 20/20. Make sure you have done your research on the doctor who will perform the surgery--how many procedures has he done and make sure the equipment is the newest available. Also--if the price is too good to be true, then run. Good luck.
