My bottom eyelid area is swollen...for a few days now...?!

Question:

My bottom eyelid area is swollen...for a few days now...?

it is not my eye, and my eyelash line is fine, it is the area under my eye. My eye is not red and it does not hurt. It is a little itchy, there has been no kind of drainage, but it won't go down. It is very puffy swollen. When I first noticed it 4 days ago, it looked like there was a tiny blister, then as the weekend went on it just kept swelling...

Does anyone know what it could be, or how to reduce the swelling. I work in an office, and I hate looking like I get beat at home....

I have looked at stye online, it does not look like that, there is nothing that looks like a little pimple, and as far as I can tell it is not draining anything, on its own or when I mess with it. There is nowhere that it would drain from. It is not on the lashline, it is the area under, like where women get those dark circles.

Thanks, I am looking for something to stop the swelling, it has not gone down for 4 days. I am going to try warm tea bags, but it did not seem to help last night, I will go get some baby shampoo and try that....

It does not hurt, and there is not a itch, like I have felt with pink eye, so I know it is not that., nor is it on my eye...

Answers:

THIS CONDITION IS KNOWN AS A CHALAZION, OR A STYE. THIS IS CAUSED BY A CLOGGED OIL GLAND IN THE EYE. IT IS IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS PRACTICE GOOD LID HYGIENE , ESPECIALLY IF YOU WEAR EYE MAKE-UP. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU USE A MIXTURE OF 1 CUP WARM WATER AND A DROP OF BABY SHAMPOO TO CLEANSE THE LIDS IF YOU DO THIS TWICE A DAY IT WILL HELP REDUCE THE CHANCES OF THE LESION COMING BACK. WHILE YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE I WOULD USE WARM COMPRESSES 4 TIMES A DAY THIS WILL HELP THE BUMP DRAIN, IF THAT DOES NOT WORK AN OPHTHALMOLOGIST CAN DRAIN IT SAFELY AND PAINLESSLY. GOOD LUCK
