Ordering contacts online...?!

Question:

Ordering contacts online...?

I just got my first pair of contacts last week. I went back today and they said that everything was ok and I could order more. I didn't order them through the vision center because I am heading back to Germany (hubby and I are stationed there) on Friday. He said I could order them through my local military exchange or online. My question is can i order a different brand? I wasn't too keen on the color ones until I saw them and just thought, oh that would be cool...so the prescrip would be the same, right?! On any brand? Where is the best site to order from? Horror stories? Good information?! Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!! :)

8.4 / 14.4
-1.00-2.25x 090 (or o9o, can't tell)
-1.50-2.25x090 (or o9o, lol)

so what all does this mean?! I am trying desperately to order them online because I called the vision center at my base and there are like $50 more to order them through them!!! HELP HELP! :) Thanks for all the answers so far!

Answers:

8.4 / 14.4
-1.00-2.25x 090
-1.50-2.25x090 Okay, ready? The -1.00 is your distance prescription and the -2.25 is the amount of astigmatism ( this is a significant amount and therefore you have to have special contact lenses to fit your eyes) the x090 is the axis of the eye.
The 8.4 is the base curve of your eye and the 14.4 represents the diameter of the lens your doctor has ordered for you.
Frequency 55 toric lenses are for people with astigmatism and I do not believe they make a colored lens. There are lens maufacturers that make colored lenses for people with astigmatism but they are very pricey!!! Any online service will not fill a prescription for any other brand except for the one listed on your prescription. If you really want colored lenses you are going to have to see your optometrist again and they will have to fit you will a trial pair of lenses (since they are a different brand and will have different diameters and curvatures than what your doctor has prescribed) you will have to go through a wearing period with the others lenses just like you did with your current presciption and the doctor will have to release you with an additional prescription. The good news is at least you can wear contacts, there are so many people who cant because of the extremeness of their astigmatism or other conditions.
