Why is it I get eye twictches when I'm stressed?

Whenever I'm extremely stressed I do this really hard blinking thing, (where you blink hard so it looks like your squeezing your eyes shut). Why is that?

No, it is not tourrets. My freind had the same problem as well. It ONLY comes on when I am stressed.

When you say " hard blinking" it sounds as if it's not a subtle almost-imperceptable twitch. It sounds as if you are doing an obvious eye blink - almost an eye squeeze. And the fact that it happens when you are under pressure makes it sounds alot like Tourette's syndrome.

The most common symptom of the onset of Tourette's sydnrome is an eye blink. Since this can worsen over time, especially if you are young (teens to 20's) you should consult a physician. There are treatments that alleviate this issue.
