Bump in lower eyelid...?!

Question:

Bump in lower eyelid...?

I have a bump on the inner corner of my eye, underneath the bottom eyelid. It is quite large (almost the size of a pea) but is the same colour has the flesh surrounding it (maybe a wee bit redder). I had a bump on the outside of my eyelid a couple days ago and I thought it was just a blocked tear duct but now this pump has erupting but the other is gone. I tried putting polysporin in and it doesn't seem to be helping. It is very itchy. It doesn't seem to have a head (like a sty does). Any idea what this can be?

Answers:

This could be some kind of inflammation or a bacterial infection. If it's inflammation, then it should be a hard nodule, not painful, which is usually referred to as a Chalazion. If it's a bacterial infection, it would be a tender painful nodule which is usually located w/n the tarsal plate of the eyelid. It's referred to as "internal Hordeolum". These are just examples of what it could be, it could be other things as well. The best thing is to check w/ ur Optometrist and he/she will give u the best diagnosis and treatment.
