Peanut sized bump in eyelid?!

Question:

Peanut sized bump in eyelid?

from the past week, i've had a peanut-sized bump in my left eyelid.. it's not 'pimple-like', so there is no way i can pop it..skin around and on the bump is still perfectly fine, it seems like an internal growth.. it hurts when i touch that 'bump'... eyesight is normal though... no colour change in either eyes and vision is still fine..

does anyone know what may have caused that 'bump', and if there is a medical term for it and also how to treat it..

thank you

Answers:

you probably have what is called a stye or chalazion, these bumps are caused by clogged oil ducts in the eyelid. what you can do is try to use warm compresses three times a day and artificial tears throughout the day as well, this she help the lesion to drain. also you should try a lid scrub this is basically a mix of warm water and a drop of baby shampoo use a clean wash cloth and gently clean the eye lash line this will help between stye outbreaks by keeping the oil glands clean. if nothing works for the stye you should see an ophthalmologist who can safely drain the lesion.. good luck
