ma mom thinks dat if u wear contacts it gives u an infection... can any1 explain???
Answers:
wearing contacts does put a person at higher risk for "infection" as well as many other ocular problems, that is true.
however, the risk is fairly small if the patient is compliant (changes the lenses when recommended, uses appropriate solutions to store them in, does not sleep in the lenses, etc etc).
the problems usually arise when patients dont do all of those things well. they get complacent and non-compliant, and the risk skyrockets.
if you're a "good" contact lens wearer and do everything right, the risk is very low.
