For an opthalmologist or optometrist?!

Question:

For an opthalmologist or optometrist?

I wear contacts, and for the past month, my right eye has been getting very blurry when I wear contacts (with glasses, I'm fine). It feels like my contact gets dry really fast, and I have to blink a lot. When I take a good look at the contact, it seems like there's massive protein build up. Also, when i wake up in the morning, i have abnormal high amounts of morning boogers on my right eye. Do i have some sort of infection or is this just part of allergy season?

Answers:

If you have a massive amount of protein build-up on the lens, I hope you have enough sense to get rid of it. If your eyes only bother you when the lenses are in, then that would be a dead giveaway that something is wrong with the contacts themselves. Have you had a recent eye exam? Contact lenses wearers should have an exam every year to update their prescription. How old are lenses? Are they disposables or regular daily wear? If your lens irritates your eye every time you put it in, its time for new ones. If you are having problems with gunk in your eyes in the morning, it may perhaps be allergies...are you sleeping with the lenses in? If you are, you shouldn't be...especially if that right lens has got a crud build-up on it.

Make an appointment, and get some brand new CLEAN lenses...
