Does anyone know of a good eye anesthetic?!

Question:

Does anyone know of a good eye anesthetic?

I am doing some acting work that requires me to use colored contact lenses every day. Trouble is that I am quite allergic to them. My eyes feel itchy and heavy after a few hours of using them. I am hoping that someone can inform me of some eye drops that could anesthetize my eyes so wearing the lenses wont be so difficult. Thanks in advance!

Answers:

You cannot use an anesthetic on the eye for any extended period of time. Overuse can cause corneal melting. This is a very bad situation. I would advise the use of rewetting drops or possibly an allergy medication prescribed by your eye doctor if he/she deems allergy to be the cause of the sensitivity. It's possible the solution is bothersome to you as well. Discuss this with an eye doctor to determine your best course of action.
