Eyes sensitive to light?!

Question:

Eyes sensitive to light?

Does anyone know what it's called when you have a condition where if you look into bright light you then see spots in front of your eyes afterwards?

Similar to when someone takes your photo with a flash and when you look away you get a white blob in front of your eyes for a minute or two afterwards? But this is more frequent and not with cameras..............This is if you look into car headlights or streetlights or any object and then look away....(not just very bright lights)... or also if you have problems looking at checkered objects or stripes............does anyone know what this is called?

Yes yes, I know sunglasses are a good idea!!! ;-) BUT, it's not practical 24 hours a day, and I am talking about sensitivity to all light, not just sun, so it's a big problem!! (can't look at the TV, light bulbs, windows, etc!!)

Answers:

I believe it is photophobia. I have it too. I'm a pain in the a** to share an office with because I need to have the light above my desk disconnected at all times, and I'm constantly closing the blinds because the sun reflects off the cars out in the parking lot.

There is a condition called Sensory Processing Disorder, in which some (or all) of your senses are either under or over sensitive to stimuli. I have this condition. Just do a Yahoo or Google search on it.
