How bad is it to be lazy with contact lense removal?!
Question:
How bad is it to be lazy with contact lense removal?
I have just been informed (through a blood test) that my protein levels are a little high, I wear Accuvue advance, which I was told by my optometrist are okay to leave in overnight on the odd occasion due to their breathability, and I've never had trouble leaving them in for up to a month straight... Is this ACTually bad for the health of the eye? Especially with higher protein levels? Is this relevant? Is this likely to affect the health of the lense/eye?

Savashviro, FYI, there are lenses out there that you can wear for 30 days and 30 nights. This particular brand are very light and breathable. I have worn contact lenses for 10 years and never had an eye infection, and definately haven't gone blind yet! I wouldn't mind hearing from an optometrist or opthalmologist as to the REAL story with lenses.

Its not all that bad at all. My situation is pretty much the same as yours and after 2 years of it my eyesight hadnt even gotten any worse. Yay! Higher protein levels arent relevent, dw bout that. However it does depend on the person so if any iratiation occurs then you should revert back to the reccomended treatment. A simple rule to follow about your eyes: "See good, feel good, look good". If they satisfy all these then your fine! Good Luck and enjoy the freedom!
