Question:
Is losing the strength of ones ability to see in color as common a symptom of old age as the loss of vision?
So i know as we get older our vision gets weaker.
But does our interpretation of color also get more dull?
Or is it a question of the brain aging and not being able to percieve color as brilliant as it used to?
Answers:
The eye may percieve colors slightly differently as cataracts form. The blue end of the spectrum is blocked out and things tend to appear more yellow. A comment that I hear frequently from cataract patients post-operatively is how bright their vision has become again, and how much more they appreciate the blue.
