Does wearing eyeglasses have a long-term effect on your eyesight?!

Question:

Does wearing eyeglasses have a long-term effect on your eyesight?

For example, my sight is just a LITTLE blurred... so I got eyeglasses. The thing is, my eyes do not really NEED glasses, it just makes everything look clearer and a little better... minor thing, but if I wear eyeglasses for one year, will my eyesight (without the glasses) become clearer or blurrier? If I DO NOT wear glasses for a year, will my eyesight become clearer or blurrier? And any other effects?

Answers:

Your eyes will continue to get worse, whether you wear glasses or not. The difference is, when you wear the glasses you will get used to being able to see clearly. Without the glasses you will find that things look blurrier. Its not that your eyes are worse, its that your eyes actually PREFER to see clearly. But, one would think that seeing better is a good thing...especially if it clears things up while your driving.

If you need glasses, even if its only for driving, there is no way that NOT wearing the glasses is going to improve your vision. The person a few up from me who said her vision would be better now had she NOT worn glasses is dead wrong...
