Exceding the daily limit for contacts?!

Question:

Exceding the daily limit for contacts?

Right now I'm "suppose" to wear contacts for a max. of 10 hours a day, and change them every 2 weeks. Well.. ever since I got them (excluding the first week where the doctor said to slowly increase the time I wear them), I've almost always exceded 10 hours. Is that going to wreck my eyes in any way?

Answers:

Well hun you should really stick to the wear schedule your doctor has recommended for you. Overwearing contacts can deprive your cornea of oxygen this leaves them susceptible to infection and damage that could be irreversible. Your doctor has given you a wear schedule for a reason.
The best thing for you to do is try your hardest to stick to the wear schedule they have given you and maintain routine eye exams. It is very important to follow proper contact lens wear and care.... if not it could have serious consequences that could end up in permanent damage and even loss of vision in more serious cases.
Please talk to your doctor about it, do not change your wear schedule without consulting them first.
