I have astigmatism and I just got contact lenses yesterday, am I suppose to noti!

Question:

I have astigmatism and I just got contact lenses yesterday, am I suppose to notice a difference in vision?

My vision with contact lenses is a bit different with glasses. Its not blurry or anything, it just seems weird, does this happen to people new with contacts? I can see and read, the vision isn't bad..just different. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Answers:

It takes at least a couple of weeks for your eyes to adjust to new contacts, especially new contacts for astigmatism. They are different from regular contacts, in that they have a weight at the bottom of the lens that holds your prescription steady. You should get used to it after a while, but if you don't, your optometrist can change lenses, lens powers, or lens shapes to make your adaptation process and time a little easier for you. But in the end.....your glasses will most likely be your better vision no matter what.
