it depends on the cause of the dryness.
if the cause of the dryness is contact lens wear, I like OPTIVE
if the cause of the dryness is insufficient tear production, I like SYSTANE or OPTIVE
if the cause of the dryness is autoimmune disease or severe insufficient tear production, I usually suggest Rx-only RESTASIS. I also like oral omega 3 fish oils and emollients like SOOTHE
finally if the cause of the dryness is blepharitis, you must treat the underlying type of blepharitis (many types, many treatments)
