Can you wear contacts if you have glaucoma?!

Question:

Can you wear contacts if you have glaucoma?

Answers:

yes. contacts float or sit on the front surface of your cornea. glaucoma is a disease that affects the inside of the eye, specifically loss of retinal nerve fibers.

no contact lens could ever have any effect on a person's glaucoma, with the possible exception that some treatments for glaucoma involve prescription eyedrops, which would probably lose some of their effectiveness if instilled over contacts.

some research is being done on putting glaucoma medications into contact lenses...so those patients in theory would definitely be wearing contacts.
