Can secondhand smoke damage contact lenses?!

Question:

Can secondhand smoke damage contact lenses?

We frequent the casino about once every week to two weeks, for three to eight hours in one stretch. My eyes don't burn in the secondhand smoke environment at all (but did when I used to wear glasses), but my eyes do get pretty dry and I have to use the artificial tears once every 1-1/2 hours to 2 hours.

I wear the two-week disposables and take them out every evening. When I put them back in the day after being at the casino (even after changing out the solution two to three times), my eyes burn severely and tear-up for about 20 seconds, but then the burn completely disappears as if nothing happened.
