My glasses are Anti-Glare (Anti-reflection)..for only about three weeks?!?!

Question:

My glasses are Anti-Glare (Anti-reflection)..for only about three weeks?!?

My glasses are about three weeks old, it has anti-reflection coating. The first three weeks were fine until last week I use the spray for the first time (spray was given by where I bought the glasses and claimed to be "safe for any coating, especially anti-glare")
Now the reflections are showing and it bugs me,when I wear it I can see the lights on the ceiling, from the sides of my glasses.
And I can see linear "rainbows" from the reflection.
I'm not really sure whether it was the spray...any suggestions?

Answers:

I'm an Optician and I HATE those so-called "lens sprays". The problem with them is that if you have any debris, dirt, crud, or dust on the lens and you spray the lens with that stuff, all it does is make it WET debris, dirt, crud, or dust. The spray doesn't rinse the lenses off. Kind of like when you wash your car. What's the first thing you do? You hose it off BEFORE you put a sponge or a rag to it because you don't want to grind any road dirt into the finish of your car. Well, the same thing applies to your lenses. I always tell people (and I always abide by these instructions as well) to rinse your lenses under hot water and let the water rinse off any crud. THEN, use the lens spray. The lens spray is good for getting off fingerprints and stuff like that. At the office where I work, we have a large atomizer spray bottle that we fill half with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol, and half water. The alcohol is GREAT for getting off hairspray and make-up and oil and dirt from your skin and perspiration. And the main ingredient in most of those OTC lens sprays is alcohol.

If your lenses are only 3 weeks old, I would take them back and see if there is a warranty on them. I know in our office, we bend over backwards to make sure our patients are satisfied. I would tell them that you were only following instructions given to you by the person who dispensed your glasses and now your lenses are scratched and the coating is marred. If they value your business, I would think they would replace them for you. I know I would if you came in to see me...
