Question:

I only had my new pair of glasses with new prescription for less then a month?

And know as of yesterday they have a small chip (Different from a scratch). See this picture for what I mean

How did this happen and why and what can be done? (Other then buying new lenses.

Answers:

They make lens scratch remover that works great. You can find it at most pharmacies or department stores. (It might work if the chip is small enough but i couldnt really tell cuz ur pic was REALLY blurry)
