What are eye floaters ?!

Question:

What are eye floaters ?

I use to have one black spot floating around my vision on my left eye now I have another floating around on my right eye, what are they and can you get rid of them?

Answers:

Floaters can be caused by many different things such as: age-related floaters, people with a high myopia (very nearsighted), HBP, stress, etc. If it's related to age then it's caused by the breakdown of vitreous in the eye as one age's. This is not as bad as it sounds. This tends to occur around age 30 or later and is very common in people of this age group. There is no cure. Most people just get used to them over time.

You do need to pay attention to changes in the floaters, though. For instance if they increase in size, increase in number, or increase in frequency--see your optometrist or ophthalmologist. There may be something else going on. Especially be aware of any "flashes" of light. The flashes could be the sign of a possible retinal detachment, and this needs to be seen ASAP by your eye doctor.
