What reading glasses should I get?!

Question:

What reading glasses should I get?

I had an eye exam the other day and my prescription has changed. I now require progressive lenses, whereas before my eyeglasses were just for reading. As my new eyeglasses are about 10 days away, could someone please tell me, based on the following prescription, what stock standard diaopeter glasses I should get, for reading until my new eyeglasses arrive? Trying to do computer work and reading at the moment is a nightmare.

Right - Sphere +150 Cylinder -100 Axis 5 Add +100
Left - Sphere +150 Cylinder -100 Axis 5 Add +100

The basic formula is the power is equal to one over the distance in meters. Something focused a meter away would be 1/1 or +1.00. A half meter away or 1/ one half would be a +2.00. You are farsighted 1.50, which means you have to crank in that much to see at a DISTANCE, and then crank in another 1.00 to see at a meter. A book would be about a third of a meter away. So for you, you'd accomodate 1.50, then another 3. It's no wonder you get sleepy after 20 minutes when reading. The "add" is the amount of power on top of your normal power that's being given so you can see near. According to your Rx, it's a +1.00 above and beyond the 1.50, therefore a 2.50 would be about right.

For you, get about a 2.50 or so. It'll be a bit funny looking because it won't correct your astigmatism, but it'll be fairly clear and not too tiring.
