Eyes changing colors???!

Question:

Eyes changing colors???

is it true that your eye color changes according to your mood? why and if thats not the reason then which is it???

Answers:

Hello there! Your eye color is determined by the distribution and amount of pigment (melanin) on the iris fibers of your eye. If the iris has pigment on the back and front surface then the incident light reflected off of your iris is brown. When there is little or no light on the front surface of the iris The light interacts with the gray iris fibers and reflects as blue.
The size and spacing of the fibers and stromal cells determines the "blueness" or "greenness' of the reflected light. When people have less pigment on the back surface of their iris it allows light to reflect back from the retina which appears as red. The red color interacts with the blues and browns to create aqua and violet iris colors.

When it appears that a persons eye color changes it is usually due to what they are wearing, makeup and the lighting of their environment... and this usually happens to those with lighter colored eyes.
It is known that some medications, eye diseases, hormones and illnesses can change the eye color color of a person by changing the distribution and/or density of melanin or lipofuscin on the iris.
Anyways its not likely that someones mood can change the distribution and density of the melanin on your iris. It is either the reflection from clothing, lighting, makeup on the iris or a change from such things like an illness, medications and hormones.
Hope that helps :)
