Colored Contact Lenses comfort??? HELP?!

Question:

Colored Contact Lenses comfort??? HELP?

I went to my eye doctor this week and was given Freshlook color contact lenses in green to try on for a few days. It's not my first pair because I wore bausch & lomb clear lenses for over a year, but it's my first time wearing colored. When I wear Freshlook my eye get really dry, irritated, & I have a hard time putting in the lenses because they are so thin, yet 2x bigger compared to my clear ones. I blink constantly and feel like when I close or blink the contacts are shifting! I've never had this much trouble- they're so uncomfortable. So, im going back this Tuesday to get a different brand. I think acuvue colors are next ANYONE OUT THERE EXPERIENCE THE SAME? ANY ADVICE ON PRESCRIPTION COLORED CONTACTS APPRECIATED THANKS!! =D

Answers:

Many patients experience this same problem with Freshlook. Due to the dye being on the surface of the lens, there is discomfort with this lens. And it does have a larger diameter than most lenses, which is what is making it hard to insert, and move around frequently at blink. I would suggest asking your eyecare professional about Acuvue 2 Colors, which are much more comfortable. The dye is between the layers of the contact lens, which makes it more comfortable, plus they have a smaller diameter, which allows for easier insertion and improved comfort, even at blink. Expressions are also a great brand, although some optometrists are not familiar with fitting them. They are offered through Cooper Vision, and I wear them myself. I have hazel colored eyes, and have a hard time finding a color to change them. Expressions worked the best for me.
