Tender lower eyelid...?!

Question:

Tender lower eyelid...?

My lower eyelid is tender and and a bit swollen near the tear duct. It is not itchy and I know that it is not a sty. If i touch it I can feel a tiny hard bump that feels likea grain. What can this be? How do I resolve this problem?

Answers:

Hi, old mascara can contaminate your eyes, and if you must wear it at this time, use a mild solution of baby shampoo to cleanse your eyes. The drugstore has sample sizes. My Ophthalmologist suggested it.

Pick up some P.H. balanced eye drops. The individually dispensed ones are the best, and no chemicals added either. Try not to touch your eyes, and just use the drops several times a day. The single dose are good for more that one use, it recommends you not save the remainder, but I do, and carefully.
If you cleanse your eyes, don't go from the bad eye to the good eye, with the same cloth etc., you will be spreading the irritation.
If it doesn't clear up over a reasonable period of time, then I suggest you take the Dr. route. The little thingy is a granulation. They are from irritation. A lot of pollen is in the air now, so, watch out for the level of pollution on the index guide of the Newspaper. I think it is on the Weather Page.
And, try to stay in a cleaner environment. Don't use hair products that are aerosols and might enter your eyes. Also, try to yawn, those tears are free. He he
