Are there any online contact lenses sites where you dont need?

a current exam? My vision has not changed in 4 years, every year I got for an exam, every year its the same, yet I pay $100 each year for him to tell me the same thing, well is there any site where you can order contacts, and you dont need to show proof of a valid exam, or prescription? I know the specifics of my prescription (got a copy from the eye doctor) Its not that I'm cheap, I just think its a waste of money, if the contacts start seeming weak, then I would go in to be rechecked.

Anyone?

Yes, I know the purpose of the exam. I've been wearing contacts or glasses for 15 years, I think I would know if I was having any issues with my eyes. There are even eye doctors that write two year prescriptions, because they dont feel the eyes change that much in a year, unfortunately..mine doesnt. People can buy prescription drugs on the internet, but you cant buy contacts!

You HAVE to have a valid and current presciption from your eye doctor for the purchase of contact lenses online. Many eye doctors only write contact lens prescriptions valid for one year from the date of service. This is due to the fact that contact lens are worn directly on the eye as opposed to eye glasses that are worn away from the eye. There is no chance of your eyeglasses causing some sort of infection or irritation, but there is that possibility with contacts.

Also contacts can cause problems that are not detectable by the patient without an exam. An example of this would be edema (aka swelling) caused by contacts. You won't notice this, but your eye doctor will notice it at your examination.

Also, if there is a website that allows you to purchase contacts without a valid or current prescription, that website is in violation of the law. Congress past a law a few years back that banned online contact lens suppliers from selling contacts to patients without valid prescriptions.
