Answers:

Probably a Subconjunctival Hemmorage (SCH). Can look REALLY bad, but essentially is nothing to worry about it. Usually not painful, although your eye may feel dry, or a little like something is there. It's a bruise on the eye.

If you were to take two little plates of clear glass (like microscope slides), and put one drop of blood on a plate, and place the second plate over that drop, the blood would spread out all over the plates and look like a little pool of blood.

That's kind of how your eye is. One little drop of blood from a burst vessel beneath your sclera (the skin covering the white of your eye) can really spread out between those thin layers, and can make the whole white of your eye red, or just a little pinpoint of redness.

Causes can be: rubbed your eye too hard (even while sleeping), sneezed too hard, hit in the eye, prone to bleeding especailly if on blood thinners.

Like a bruise, it clears in a few days.

As always, take a 'better safe than sorry' approach to your eye health, and call your eye doctors'.
