What's the best disinfecting eye contact solution?! ADVICE ???
I've heard there was a Renu eye contact solution recall and I didn't know until my eye doctor notified me. He recommended opti-free solution- is this the best? is there a better eye contact solution I can buy? also does anyone know of any eye drops for contacts I can use throughout the day?- my eyes dry out fast. THANKS!!!!

the renu recall was a long time ago...april of '06. the renu that is on the shelves right now (may '07) is TOTALLY FINE. actually the renu product in question (called "renu with moistureloc") was completely pulled from the market. the renu that most people see on the shelves right now is called "renu multiplus" and is completely and totally fine. it DOES NOT have fungus, and in fact is one of the better cleaners out there as far as multipurpose solutions are concerned. whatever link you post that talks about renu and fusarium fungus is OLD and no longer current/correct.
as for the answer to the question...IMO the most effective cleaners for soft contacts are hydrogen-peroxide-based cleaners like ciba's "clear care". it works better IMO than any chemical-based multipurpose solution...
