Eye discomfort?? help??!

Question:

Eye discomfort?? help??

the pain (or discomfort) is usually around the eye or behind. its difficult to explain the feeling, but its uncomfortable. the minute i take out my contacts and wear my glasses, its fine. then there are days wearing my contacts where its fine...no discomfort at all. What is going on? it literally happens at different/random times. it doesnt have to do with computer use. it can just simply be walking around..any ideas please

Answers:

Hun it seems that it is related to your contacts if it only happens when you are wearing them. Is it possible you are overwearing your contacts? When you wear your contacts more then it is recommended... or wearing them past the recommended time to throw them out then you can experience problems like this. Pain or discomfort can indicate a problem with your eyes due to contact lens wear.
If you over-wear your contacts your cornea will not be able to tolerate it. Wearing lenses for extended periods of time can block oxygen to the cornea, making it more susceptible to infections. Also improper contact lens wear can result in a corneal ulcer. This happens when the surface of the cornea is damaged or compromised. This is more serious because bacteria may be on the lens or in your cleaning solutions, thus, they get trapped on the under surface of the lens. If your lenses are left in your eyes for long periods of time, these bacteria can multiply and cause damage to the cornea.

I would say the best thing you can do is take a break from wearing your contacts, put on your glasses and schedule an appointment with your eye care professional. They will be able to check your eyes for any damage or problems that may have occurred.
Hope that helps :)
