Answers:

NO. . Absolutely NOT.
There is no opening for the contact to reach the back of the eye.
The biggest problem that contact wearers face is getting the contact lens up under their eyelid, not being able to see it to get it out and it rubbing against the eyeball and hurting as if there were sand/dirt or an eyelash.
Doesn't happen often but it does happen and every contact wearer will tell you that the benefits of wearing contacts far
outweigh any hassles or mishaps such as this.

The answer from the person who says that this happened to them isn't lying, they are just telling it as it appeared to them.
They probably got the contact curled up under their eye lid, tried and tried to get it out and ended up causing the eyelid to swell which made it harder to get to the contact.
Once the eyelid swelled they probably became so apprehensive that putting them to sleep was their only option as Ophthalmologists/Optometrists have eye drops that numb the eye and after numbing the eye with these drops we are able to do anything to the eye. . even pick out metal.
I have rescued many a contact right there in the office with the use of these numbing drops.
