The cornea could be scratched and therefore just blinking is causing pain.
Close the injured eye and keep a cold rag on it. Keep the eye closed and keep the cold rag on it til in the morning and you will probably be alright. The eye has amazing recovery abilities.
If you aren't any better by morning you probably need to go to your urgent care center and have it checked out and possibly get some antibiotics.
