It's not reccomended that you do so in a tanning bed. Most tanning salons have a notice on the wall where it tells you to remove contacts before tanning. If you leave them on use protective goggles approved for tanning beds or the "winkies" that they sell there and under no circumstances open your eyes when you are in the bed!
As for normal tanning...not a problem. You're eyes may get a bit dry so where sunglasses and keep some solution or drops handy.
