I don't know if you work alot with computers, or if you do a great deal of reading, but it sounds as if you are having eye strain. Eye strain occurs when the muscles or tendons in the eyes have been overused. And a lot of time, alot of computer work, or reading can cause this.

If you work on a computer you can minimize eyestrain by adjusting your monitor to minimize glare. You can do this by purchasing an anti-glare screen and placing it on top of your monitor. You can also purchase eye glasses with an anti-glare coating, on them to knock out the glare. Also known as an anti-reflective lens.

You can also try to match the brightness on your computer to match the brightness in your work area. Also make sure that you have a high contrast on your computer.

Make sure that the print is big enough, and the color is comfortable for your eyes. For example, have black text on a white background. But make sure that the white background isn't to bright.

Make sure you blink often, which is very important when working on a computer. This causes your eyes to remain lubricated, and it avoids your eyes becoming dry, and irritated. It has been found that while working on a computer, that people have a tendancy of blinking less often, studies have shown that computer users blink about 5 times less. Which results in tears in the eyes to evaporate more rapidly, and cause dry eyes. You can also consider getting rewetting eyedrops. Try to avoid those that you can purchase over the counter, some of them are not good for your eyes. Try to speak to a pharmicst and explain to them what you are feeling, and see which ones they recommend.

There are about 88% of the population that suffers from computer eye strain. What causes this strain is the continuing flexing of the eyes focusing muscles. This causes the eyes to burn, and a tired eye feeling. Computer eyeglasses assist with the intermediate vision, which is the distance from the computer to actually where you are sitting. So that's why your eyes feel better when you are wearing your glasses. It's relieving the eye strain, and it is relieving the muscles of the eyes.
