Can you buy Contact Lenses in the U.S with a U.K prescription?
I am going to the U.S in a couple of weeks and was wondering if I could buy new lenses there, without an eye exam... based on my UK prescription. I also am wondering if they are cheaper there, than here in the UK. Anyone done this???? Thanks....

As long as you have a current contact lens rx to show your aftercare is up to date,and showing your complete c/l spec ie;lens type,base curve and prescription,signed by your optom or c/l practioner you will have no problems.If you want to buy 30 days of contacts you must have a recall date on your rx in excess of that.Optical prescriptions read the same the world over,I'm store manager in a large practice and we regularly make specs to rx's from all over the world.
