Question about eye exams?

I'm just doing a little impromptu survey and I'm wondering if a few people could tell what a routine eye exam costs in the area where they live?

I'm not talking about exams covered by insurance. And by the way Original Medicare NEVER cover a ROUTINE eye exam. They only cover Medical eye exams unless they are a Medicare Advantage plan. Trust me I have worked in insurance and very closely with medicare for over 9 years.

Oh, also please let me know if the price includes refraction. If it doesn't include refraction; what does the refraction cost in addition to the eye exam?

Average around here (Virginia) is between $45.00 to $55.00 for a Optometrist and beginning at $160.00 as much as $200.00 for a visit with an Opthalmologist.
I know I chose the wrong field!!.. :-)
