What would cause a smokey film when wearing contacts.?!

Question:

What would cause a smokey film when wearing contacts.?

Eye drops help for a few seconds or minutes then it's back again. It makes reading the monitor screen near impossible. Eyes feel dry and scratchy at times, even sticky like. At times feels like an eye lash under the eyelid. Taking contacts out an cleaning them has no effect for any lenght of time. What gives? it is driving a friend of mine crazy. This is a recent problem. They haven't had problems with their contacts until recently. What could be causing this? They are not hard contacts. They are worn two weeks then glasses for two weeks. Anyone have any ideas?

Answers:

You might have quite a number of things. You migh have dry eye syndrome, you might have an allergic reaction to your contact and the simplest of them all... you might need to replace them.

Contact lenses tend to build up protein debris from your eyes. If they're not cleaned properly or simply too old, then you can get blurred vision from using them.

It would be best for you to see an ophthalmologist so you can get a proper evaluation.
