Mucus draining in my 3 1/2 years old's eye.?!
Question:
Mucus draining in my 3 1/2 years old's eye.?
Hi,
Our three year old has a cold, but normally, he doesn't have mucus in his eyes. This time, every hour or so, we see 2 or 3 nuggets of white mucus in his eyes. Whey he wakes up, he has like 5 of them. It is now in both of his eyes. We have never seen this before, what could it be?
Answers:
get ur kid checked up.
there could be many causes.
if along with mucus ur kid has irritation of eye, reddeningand pain sumtimes then it is conjunctivitis.
it may be conjunctivitis which will need a treatment.
It is highly contagious and can be passed by hand-to-eye contact, as well as from one eye to the other, and even by way of towels. it could be bacterial, viral, or allergic conjunctivitis, or something less common.
Conjunctivitis usually clears up in a few days to a week with treatment. Of course, viral conjunctivitis will clear up by itself.
cold water soaks can be relieving.
use cotton balls to wipe eyes, wiping away from the direction of nose to the outside of the face, and use a fresh cotton ball for each eye.
