What is a polycarbonate?!

Question:

What is a polycarbonate?

if an optometrists checks off Polycarbonate under Doctor Recommends, what does polycarbonate mean?

Answers:

Polycarbonate is a lens material that your doctor is recommending for your eyeglasses. They are thinner and lighter then regular plastic lenses as well as UV protected and highly impact resistant. The only downside I can think of is sometimes people can experience chromatic aberration (seeing colors when looking through the side of the lens) from these lenses due to the optical quality being slightly less then regular plastic. Very few people experience that and those who do have very high prescriptions usually. Most people are happy with them :)
